WGLions burrito breakfast to post 2014

Our Willow Glen Lions burrito breakfast event is a delicious delight!

We only do our Burrito Breakfast in conjunction with a few big events, like the 7th annual Rompacoglioni Car Crew’s Cruise for a Cause, which is a classic car show and food
drive. There are some pretty special cars on display by their owners – most are restored and just eye popping!

Get up early enough to come in and have breakfast at our booth, across from La Villa on Lincoln Avenue in Willow Glen… and then take your camera out on the street and get some stupendous photos of some gorgeous autos.

Past project: Light up your street with Willow Glen Lions’ fundraiser — selling better-grade Christmas trees for yards.

Vicki Thompson Christmas trees lit up on Ellen St. in Willow Glen.Missing the beauty of days gone by when all the neighborhoods in Willow Glen were lit up with cute ‘Charlie Brown’ Christmas trees,  Willow Glen Lions members Dave Parkinson and Steve Sukovez have put together a great deal on higher quality trees that will be comparably priced to past trees, but also have built in a donation for Willow Glen Lions Charities.

From around the 1950s, the town of Willow Glen had lit up front yards all over town, with sparkling lit trees that had a white light on the very top. These programs were championed by ‘leaders’ in the neighborhoods who went to the time and trouble of speaking with every neighbor, collecting money and arranging for tree delivery.

To honor that past, and bring back the tradition, the Willow Glen Lions are selling front yard shaved trees for $25, plus they’ll provide rebar to use for standing the tree up for an additional $5. IN addition, the Lions are also selling 22 inch bushy wreathes with some holiday decorations already attached, for just $20.

Orders must be placed for these trees by October 15th. If you are interested, please call Dave Parkinson at 408-998-2139 to arrange purchase.

The goods will be delivered on or about December 15th. Don’t miss out on this chance to revive a beautiful holiday tradition!

Past project: Saturday October 19, 2013 — Willow Glen Lions Club Brews ‘n’ Bites!

The majority of proceeds for this special event will go to Parents Helping Parents, a great nonprofit organization that helps families and kids with disabilities such as autism, physical and learning disabilities, seizures and other afflictions. They are dedicated to helping parents find their way to best educational opportunities and help to improve the quality of life for these struggling families.
